Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
Background: The GIZ is active in various countries around the world and has to continuously adapt their approaches and means of cooperation according to new developments and global challenges. Especially in the emerging market countries, the organization is faced with rapid developments leading to a constantly changing environment in regard to new stakeholders, approaches and the effective role of the GIZ.
Objectives and Results: In five selected emerging market countries, the GIZ has developed scenarios which describe the current situation, challenges and needs of each of these countries. With an analysis of each country and an improved understanding of each of its challenges, a strategic alignment of the organization regarding its role and contribution to new and adapted forms of international cooperation, business models as well as internal structures and processes were sketched out.
