Ironically the populist right could provoke the opposite of the strengthening of national states and become the obstetricians and midwives of a new Europe..

BEING A CATALYST FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE

The EUSG Engagement

The European School of Governance acts as a catalyst for dialogue, for debates, discourses and activism throughout society. Far from setting or pushing agendas the EUSG hosts and facilitates trans-disciplinary dialogue across all parties for mutual understanding and better solutions.

THE EUROPEAN WAY

Europe is inescapable and whatever we think and do in politics, economy and civil society in Europe is challenged with two inevitabilities. First is the geography of the continent. It is all interconnected and all interdependent. And second is the cultural depth of the diverse European regions.

Building on Europe’s cultural depth and diversity we can rightfully assume that there is, and has to be, a European way of governance and management. The EUSG fosters, hosts and facilitates the quest for this European way in dialogue events and research.

The beauty of Europe is that we find all we need in plenty: traditions and ideas, experiences, knowledge and values. It is about time to thrive on this treasure for better decision making, for better management and governance in business and politics.

EUROPEAN CIVIL SOCIETY

Brexit and Trump have stirred up a giant. They have unintendedly woken up civil society in and for itself. It is not about the fringes and the usual suspects. We see men and women who have never felt the urge to voice and taking action. Today they march for Europe and for the open society they had taken for granted all those years.

Especially from the perspective of a further European unification process todays civil society marching for Europe, their quest and excitement resembles the Vormärz, the young German unification movement in the early 19th century. And very much alike the Vormärz activities today’s civil society is unexperienced in organising political discourses, action and efficacy.

The EUSG serves the European civil society as a catalyst, hosting and facilitating not only the encounter of the various movements and diverse activist groups. It promotes and facilitates the pan European dialogue on all levels increasing its visibility and relevance for citizens, the media and politicians.
